Photosensitive was started three years ago to bring about a synthesis in the way the eye sees and the way the mind interprets when looking through a camera…Professional photographers Shailan Parker and Joginder Singh had been teaching photography in various design schools across Delhi and wanted to take it to a larger audience. Weekend photography workshops were initiated to convey the nuances of photography through multimedia presentations, outdoor shoots and interactive picture reviews.
Almost everyone has a digital camera these days. Most of these are AUTOMATIC point and shoot cameras. Can we use these for serious photography? is a question we are often asked. YES and NO…While one can definitely go on refining pictures through COMPOSITION and looking at LIGHT…these cameras do not allow you to CREATIVELY manipulate the variables that lead to a BETTER PICTURE and one soon realizes the limitations of such equipment.
WHAT KIND OF A CAMERA DO YOU NEED?
Any camera, Film or Digital, that has a Manual Mode and allows you to play variables like APERTURE and SHUTTER SPEED. Any FILM OR DIGITAL SLR CAMERA. Photosensitive does not provide any camera equipment and participants are expected to have their own cameras.
WORKSHOP DETAILS
The basic workshop is designed to systematically take you through building up an appreciation towards LIGHT…learning to SEE its impact on a photograph.
Fundamentals of COMPOSITION…learning how to arrange elements in the view finder so that the picture looks ADEQUATELY FRAMED.

The role of APERTURE in a picture.
