Beauty, Truth, and Sensitivity: Tatiana Cardeal Photography
Tatiana Cardeal is a photographer from Sao Paulo Brazil, who worked as art director and graphic designer for more than 10 years in Brazilian publications, before starting out as a photographer in 2005. The body of Tatiana’s photography is mostly documentary and focuses on different socio-cultural identities with emphasis on inequality and environment. “I think I have strong tendencies to photograph people, but it always depends on the issue I’m working on, I’m usually more concerned to find a good way to talk about something specific that I believe is important to talk , than looking for aesthetic preferences on the subjects,” the incredible photographer tells us.
Tatiana’s work has been displayed in many galleries across the world and she has won countless awards that have gone out to honor her work. Some of them include the Humanity Photo Awards 2009 China - CFPA and UNESCO, Brazilian 25th edition of the Human Rights Award for Journalism, Nominee for the National Geographic All Roads Photography Award 2008 and 2007, and 2nd place (Portrait Blogs) - The Best of the Journalism 2006. Tatiana has also worked for many international clients such as The UN Institute for Disarmament Research, YES! Magazine, The Independent newspapers, National Geographic Channel, Deutsche Welle, and Courrier International.
Tatiana’s photographs are filled life, truth, and sensitivity, and her work offers tremendous gratification for anybody who loves travel photography at its best. A collection of Tatiana’s humanitarian pictures can be seen below:
